The Pigfish team have been together since 2000. It is a stable committed team with the same core members now as at day one. Whilst we race hard we also enjoy race day with good food throughout the day and a drink together to celebrate or commiserate after a race meeting.

 

Doug Bird (the "Pigfish")

Driver: Doug is the man in the hot seat, his nickname is well deserved having a great affinity for food and wine. Doug just can't help himself. Doug is also a team owner and puts his all into the car and on race day. He is a focused driver whose whole aim in life is to keep going faster. The first V8 this man ever owned or raced was an alcohol altered, what does that say? Doug is also one of the directors of Zenith Insurance Services and during the day when he, Mal and Teen are not on the net looking for more toys to buy he brokes insurance to corporate Australia.

      

 

Marc Grosser (Teen)

Chief Mechanic: Marc's dedication sees him staying up really late talking to people in the USA. He takes his engine work very seriously and loves to make this car go hard. Marc is the General Manager at Contract Power Group and is responsible for the daily operations of the company. He is a diesel fitter by trade. Marc has 19 years experience in his field and in the mining sector.

 

Leon Hodges

Team owner and avid racing fan: Leon  is known for his colourful interpretations on most issues. Leon is also the team chef so when you take a look at these guys you can tell the cooking is always good. Leon is the owner and sole director of WA based Contract Power Group, a power generation and power station design and operations company. His company operates across 3 continents and in 6 countries around the globe. Leon is a diesel fitter by trade with over 30 years experience in the mining, oil and gas sectors. 

 

Brian Hall (Hally)

Tow Car Driver come All Rounder: Brian is best known for his on the spot ability of repairing anything that has an electrical pulse in it, on it, or through it. Hally is our team electrician and his day job is the Manager of the Electrical department at CPG. Brian is charged with the overall operations of our existing facilities and the design and installation of all of our project work around the globe, with a team of electricians under his charge.

       

 

Malcolm Pollard (Surly)

Team Manager: Mal generally arranges all the stuff no one else wants to do. His primary function on race day is to sit and review all the run data,(and everything else) interpret it and then pass it on to Teen. Mal does the clutch calcs, weather info and run data and adds a great deal of humor and variety to the team. He has also recently completed his 34 Ford three window coupe and is often seen down at the Motorplex on Wednesday nights or at the Nostalgia Drags.

     

Ashley Byatt (Sooty)

Teen's Right Hand Man: Ash has recently completed a four year apprenticeship with CPG as a diesel fitter. He is basically Teen's right hand man when it comes to the race car. He is devoted and loyal to the team and is learning a lot from his peers. Ash does the clutch and top set with Teen during turn around periods and is also on the line when we race.
